Clegg, I think it's time to panic

From the Canuck’s postgame:

We hit a couple of posts

We didn’t get any bounces

We should have scored a couple

The pucks are going to be in sooner or later

What are you going to do?

Our powerplay [...] let us down

The key player in tonight’s game was their goaltender [...] [he] didn’t enable us to get any momentum

I’m not a psych major or anything, but that sounds like loser talk to me. Not just loser talk, but losers who feel like they deserve wins regardless of whether or not they get them.  Shift the blame boys, shift the blame.

To be honest, that’s one thing I’m really liking about Edmonton this year.  Regardless of whether they win or lose, the company line seems to be:

We might have gotten some good bounces but we keep making mistakes and we’re not going to be happy unless we have mistake-free games.

Don’t get me wrong, Vancouver could easily turnaround.  But this attitude can’t possibly be helping them, and is most likely hurting them.

Check it out, it’s an Oilers press conference, circa spring 2009.
